There are multiple accommodation options for the event from cheap camping, bed and breakfast in ensuite rooms and luxury riverside lodges. Options for self-catering or with meals provided exist.

The Dell itself has chalets, luxury tent and camping facilities and is self-catering.

Close by and convenient are:-

– Camp Greystoke,, has fully equipped self-catering chalets and extensive camping facilities

– Carryblaire, has 11 ensuite rooms on a B&B basis. Dinner can be provided but must be booked 48 hours in advance

– Udolpho has self catering chalets and camping facilities,

Directions to The Dell from Johannesburg. From Johannesburg, you take the N1 south then take the Parys exit and turn right onto the R59 to Parys. If coming from Sasolburg, you cross the N1 motorway on the R59 to Parys. About 200 m further on, turn right onto the road marked Bon-Af Berry farm. Take the 1st turning left S280 Signposted Savannah Game & River Resort . Continue for 6.5Km straight on to a T junction. For the Dell, turn left onto S1052 and continue on for 5.9km until you see the entrance to The Dell on the right hand side. We are putting signs up and there will be a car parking marshal at the gate of The Dell.

Directions to The Dell from Parys Leave Parys on the Johannesburg road. Just before the Parys airport (on the right), turn left on road signposted Vaal Eden. If you see the airport, you have gone too far. On the Vaal Eden road drive for 200m and turn left at the junction.  Drive for 5.5 Km. You will pass a Chicken farm, The Henning Klopper Stigting.  The Dell is Situated on the left side of the road, 6KM on the Vaal Eden road.

Is the Vaal Eden Road passable for ordinary cars? Yes, You can get to The Dell in a 2 wheel drive ordinary car even though the Vaal Eden Road is a dirt one.

Toilets – The Dell There is 1 toilet at the office near the start/finish area and 2 toilets at the open area near the river about 400 m away where the campers are. Please can those people staying at the Dell use the toilets in their accommodation if possible and be aware that runners will come down and use the toilets by the river.

Water points. There will be a water stop at the finish. In addition to this one, there will be:-

7km Wildebeest Trail Run, water point at the mid point as you do 2 loops of the new course

15km Antelope Trail Run, 1 water station

We are trying to avoid using cups. These are wildlife parks in a beautiful area. Litter is dangerous to the animals if eaten and also spoils the environment. Apart from entrants in the Wildbeest run, where it is not necessary, please carry a water bottle yourself if you can. There will be water to fill up your water bottle at a water point if you want to.

Please carry any litter until you reach the next marshal or water station.
